Twelve Senators call on the SEC to reissue a strong anti-corruption rule – April 4, 2017

On April 4, 2017 Senator Benjamin Cardin joined by Senators Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.), Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), Ed Markey (D-Mass.), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), Tim Kaine (D-Va.), Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), Chris Coons (D-Del.), Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) wrote to Acting SEC Chair Michael Piwowar and SEC Commissioner Kara Stein. The twelve Senators call on the SEC to reissue a strong anti-corruption safeguard on oil, gas, and mining companies implementing the requirements of Section 1504 of the Dodd-Frank Act.
